Here is the results and my thoughts to Survivor Series 2015.
Pre-show 5v5 Elimination Tag Team Match Neville, The Dudley Boyz, Titus, and Goldust def. The Miz, Bo Dallas, Stardust, and The Ascension First and foremost, it’s great to see Goldust back. I hope to see him more in the future facing his brother, Stardust. The match itself was pretty meh, but it’s a pre-show match so that doesn’t surprise me. I thought it was odd that Neville was the only one eliminated from his team. But that is the only thing that really bothered me. I’m going to give this match a 2.5 out of 5. Semi Final Match in the WWE World Title Tournament Romen Reigns def. Alberto Del Rio This is the first match of the night, and it was a pretty solid one. It was a pretty standard Reigns match. Del Rio was on top for most of the match, then Reigns hits his 3 moves of doom and picks up a win. Del Rio did some good work in this match, so I’m going to give it a 3.5 out of 5. Semi Final Match in the WWE World Title Tournament Dean Ambrose def. Kevin Owens This match is definitely one of the best matches of the night. I assumed that this one would be a fight, and it was just that. Owens for the most part dominated Ambrose hitting things like the corkscrew fishermen suplex off the top rope to Ambrose. Owens also attempted a beautiful moonsault off the top rope. The finish however was a little week. The sequence up leading up to was pretty good with both Owens and Ambrose going for there finishing move, but it was Ambrose who hit a single Dirty Deeds to Owens and got the cover. I give this match a 4.5 out of 5 5v5 Elimination Tag Team Match Ryback, The Lucha Dragons, and The Usos def. The New Day, Sheamus, and King Barrett So before I get too into the match itself, I just want to say that The New Day is awesome. They never seize to amaze me with their promos and just how they act outside of the ring. This match was the more solid of the two tag matches. The only big spot in the match was when the Lucha Dragons and The Usos did a 4 man suicide dive to the outside, then Ryback jumped on top from the turnbuckle. Other than that, the match was pretty meh. The New Day walked out after Big E got eliminated, leaving Sheamus to fend for himself, ultimately leading to Ryback picking up the win for his team. I give this match a solid 3 out of 5 WWE Divas Championship Charlotte (c) def. Paige There isn’t much to say about this match other than I was highly disappointed in it. I mentioned in my preview that I was really looking forward to this one after the promo between Charlotte and Paige on Raw this past week, but unfortunately, they did not capitalize on the heat that they got. It’s pretty bad when the audience was chatting “We Want Sasha” a lot during the match. Plus, there were several weak spots and some botched moves. With that said, this match gets 1.5 out of 5. Tyler Breeze def. Dolph Ziggler This is another match that there isn’t much to say about. I really enjoyed this one however. Most anytime you bring an NXT guy up to the main roster, I get pretty excited about what they are going to do. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next for Tyler Breeze. I’m giving this match a solid 3.5 out of 5. Brothers of Destruction vs. The Wyatt Family This match is probably my favorite of the entire night. The Undertaker will always been my favorite wrestler ever. The amazing entrance he made tonight actually gave me chills. So, much to my surprise, it was Wyatt and Harper who participated in the match rather than Strowman. Everything stared off with Rowen being chokeslamed by both Taker and Kane before the match really started. Once the bell rang, Taker and Kane dominated for a good while until Strowman got involved by throwing Kane over the announcer’s table. The Wyatt family then dominated Kane for a brief period of time until he was able to tag Taker in. Then that’s when things got crazy. Taker came in and started to dominated, but then Harper and Wyatt were able to clothesline him to the outside. However, Taker then landed on his feet and turned his attention to Strowman. Both Taker and Kane chokeslamed Strowman through the announcer’s table. Undertaker then went on to tombstone Harper for the win. This was truly an awesome match. 4.5 out of 5 WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match Romen Reigns def. Dean Ambrose This was a really good match between these two. But it’s the outcome of this match that is the interesting part. So after hitting each other with signature move after signature move, Reigns finally hits one last spear for the win. Reigns starts to celebrate with streamers falling from the rafters and pyro going off on the stage. Ambrose congratulates him and leaves. It is truly Reign’s moment……..then Triple H comes out. Triple H congratulates Reigns on a hard fought win. However, Reigns doesn’t go along with this and spears Triple H. That’s when things go wrong for Reigns. Sheamus comes out, hits Reigns with two Brouge Kicks, and pins Reigns for the title making him the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. I would have preferred a Reigns heel turn, but I will take this over what we almost got. I give this whole segment, including the cash in, a 4 out of 5 Final Thoughts For me personally, this PPV was lackluster. Nothing major happened. The only things that saved this show from being just awful was The Undertaker match and Sheamus being the one to walk out as champion instead of a face Reigns. I give the overall show a solid 3, it wasn’t terrible, but unless this was the last time I see The Undertaker, I won’t watch it again.

Survivor Series 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of the Undertaker’s debut, but it also has been a disaster in the weeks up to the event. The booking of events leading up to Survivor Series has been pretty lackluster with the exception of a couple of segments. I personally haven’t really been hyped about watching this PPV because of this. But enough about the show as a whole, lets get into my predictions for Survivor Series 2015.
Note: The order I list the matches is not the order by which they will occur most likely. Traditional Survivor Series 5 on 5 Elimination Tag Team Match TBA vs TBA This match I don’t believe has been announced on RAW or Smackdown, but has been announced elsewhere. So I thought I would include it in my preview just in case it actually is a match. Since no competitors have been announced for this match it’s obviously hard to predict, but for me personally, I would like to see an NXT vs Main Roster styled match. I think it would be great exposure for the NXT roster and it would introduce NEW STARS!! You know? That thing that WWE should be trying to do rather than sticking with the same people!! Unfortunately, this is probabley not the match we will get because a match where it’s a show vs another show would most likely have buildup. It will be interesting to see who returns or competes in this match. Dolph Ziggler vs Tyler Breeze This match has the potential to steal the show. Both Ziggler and Breeze are absolutely amazing and it’s nice to see something new and fresh with Breeze. The booking for this match hasn’t been too bad, but at the same time it hasn’t been very good either. So poor booking leading up to the match will be the only thing to take away from it. Winner: Dolph Ziggler WWE World Title Tournament Semifinals Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens There isn’t much to be said about this match. The tournament has produced some really good matches, but overall has been poorly booked and lackluster. Granted, the WWE had to throw it together with everything that happened with Rollins. But there is no doubt in my mind who is going to walk out of Survivor Series as the champion. Both of these matches will be amazing, especially Ambrose vs. Owens. Winner: Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose WWE Divas Championship Match Charlotte (c) vs. Paige I personally haven’t been excited for this match due to the build up of it UNTIL the contract signing this past week on RAW. When Paige made that comment that she did regarding the Flair family, my jaw absolutely dropped. Ever since that moment, I’ve been looking forward to this match. Both Paige and Charlotte are among the top divas in the company when it comes to actual wrestling, so this match should be a good one. Winner: Charlotte The Undertaker and Kane vs. Two members of the Wyatt Family. Out of all the matches on the card, this one has had the biggest build up. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise consider that whole PPV has been centered around 25 years of the Undertaker. I personally have really enjoyed the build up for this match. There has been a couple of things that I would have liked to change, such as the fact that Taker and Kane pretty much can dominate all 4 of the Wyatt Family members at the same time, but other than that, the build up was pretty solid. Ok, so it’s been said on some of the insider sites that the Wyatt Family will choose Wyatt and Strowman, which shouldn’t be a surprise at all. If this is correct, that I think the winners of this match will actually be the Wyatt family. They really can’t afford to lose. But if the put Rowen or Harper in the match, Undertaker and Kane should pick up the win. Winners: The Wyatt Family WWE World Title Tournament Finals Romen Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose So if my previous prediction about the tournament is correct, this will be a awesome main event. Reigns and Ambrose are two of the top guys in the WWE right now and its very fitting for both of them to be in the finals. On the downside, it’s very clear that Reigns is going to win the title, which takes away from how awesome this match is going to be. Fingers crossed for a Reigns heel turn. Winner: Romen Regins Final thoughts I think despite the build up, Survivor Series has the potential to be a great show. There will be some really good matches on the card and hopefully there will something to come out of the show. |
