This is my top 10 favorite heroes. You will notice most are Marvel, personally I feel that DC has the best villains but their heroes are lacking for me. This is almost 100% based off of movies/tv shows/games, as I have only really read one or two magazines and the knowledge for those just aren't there. Here ya go, enjoy. Honorable mention: Nightwing, Drax, Star Lord, Heimdal, Bishop, Ghostrider, Jessica Jones, Storm, Invisible Woman, Catwoman. Also if you would include Sabertooth and Loki (as they do various good things in addition to the bad) then they would definitely be up there. 10. Wolverine Most people seem to have Wolverine as their favorite, which is understandable. For me, Wolverine is just over used and, in a sense, over exposed. Logan is awesome, his brief cameo in X-Men: First Class is one of the best ever, but there has just been too much focus on Logan. Wolverine is your typical "I don't care what you think" hero, the guy who goes in and gets the job done. I guess I just got tired of seeing him be the central figure for everything, taking away opportunities to create stories with other mutants I will mention later. 9. Groot How can someone not like Groot? The guy... er tree... is a man.... er.... tree.... of little words. Best friends to a gun happy raccoon, Groot cares so deeply and passionately about those close to him that he even gave his life to protect them. He is the epitome of what a hero should be, someone giving everything they have to protect others. 8. Quicksilver Awesome guy, liked him before he ever made an appearance in any movie. X-Men: Days of Future Past introduced us to Quicksilver, son of Magneto. He was awesome in that movie, has a ton of backstory that is interesting and a future that is interesting as well. Things got even better with Avengers: Age of Ultron. While Quicksilver was clearly different, his Eastern European accent was awesome. His closeness with his sister was awesome, his fighting ability and style was awesome. Basically he is just the man! 7. Aquaman This is one I know very little about. I feel like many people make jokes about Aquaman as he is primarily located in the sea. Aquaman is actually quite capable on land (check out his actual list of powers) and is very underrated. Jason Momoa is the picture of Aquaman above, tell me he doesn't look awesome? I am sold on him without even seeing him do anything yet. 6. Hulk Hulk is another largely known character. A guy with an incredible temper, an anger management issue that tends to be more problematic every time (how many buildings has this guy destroyed?). Hulk is a genius, one of the few people who can hold a conversation with Tony Stark and comprehend everything that is being said. His love with Black Widow seems very awkward to me in the movies, but whatever. A guy that you want on your team when the going gets rough, just don't make him angry...... You wouldn't like him when he's angry. 5. Beast Beast just always seemed like one of those cool characters. In a position of power in the government, clearly good with words yet super powerful physically as well. Awesome combination. I was more a fan of Hank through the original x-men trilogy, not as much from first class on, but overall still one of my favorite characters. How intimidated would you be to see this guy staring across the room at you ticked off? 4. Thor Seems like many people push Thor off to the side because they didn't enjoy the first Thor movie. First, the Norse Mythos surrounding Thor is awesome, so he has that going for him. Chris Hemsworth is the PERFECT Thor, from the look to the voice, the semi-barbaric yet sophisticated word usage makes Thor really enjoyable. His struggle relating to humans in his first movie was realistic, awesome guy trying to do good, just has a pesky brother.... er sorta... 3. Ironman Ironman is just awesome. As a character Ironman is my favorite, hands down. I have heard many argue that he isn't a hero because he has no powers. I argue that his high intelligence, critical thinking ability and quick flexible reactions would count as a power. He is a funny character, logical and strategic. He is blunt, yet not exactly rude. The thing that set me over with him though, when he started having anxiety attacks in the third movie. As a person who has battled with anxiety (as have many) it really helped me relate and I loved the fact that they used this platform to draw attention to mental issues. It really showed the humanistic side of someone who is truly a hero. 2. Gambit My uncle played an x-men game on his Playstation back when I was a kid. I remember he let me play and the character I got was Gambit. Seeing as this was the only character I saw (aside from Wolverine) I loved him, he was personal to me. I went to the opening night premier of Origins when it came out, having never watched a trailer for it. When Gambit showed up on screen (unexpected to say the least) I was stunned. Semi- had the accent down, the use of the cards, he was started strong and then just sort of withered the moment that Sabertooth showed up. There have been rumors for a long time of Channing Tatum playing Gambit in a movie centered on him, and I can't really picture him as Gambit but if it gives us a movie I would take it! More people need to know about this guy. 1. Nightcrawler
The Origin of Nightcrawler could be its own movie easily. Born to Mystique and Azazel (basically a Super Demon), he was thrown over a cliff by Mystique only to be saved by Azazel. Eventually making his way to the Circus as a fortune teller, became a really strong Christian. Mysterious and working, sort of, as a lone wolf. X-Men 2 created my favorite character, considering this was the first time I had ever even heard of him I was immediately drawn to his character. He isn't overpowered, doesn't over involve himself with everything. All around just a great character which I would definitely want to have on my side. Comments are closed.
